Abou El Sid is the quintessential authentic Egyptian dining experience. Cairo’s first hipster resto is popular with tourists and upper-class locals. You can get better molokhia (Garlicky leafy soup, an Egyptian delicacy) elsewhere but here you can wash it down with local wine & beer while lounging on ornate copies of classic French furniture otherwise known as the ‘Louis Farouk’ style.

One of Cairo's long established restaurants dating back to the early 80's, Andrea is famous for their spit-roasted chicken and variety of mezzes. Recently, Andrea has moved out to a new hilltop spot in New Giza, making this a great spot for lunch or dinner after a trip to the Pyramids. Locals usually like coming here for brunch during the weekends where you can eat in the garden while overlooking the city of Giza. Andrea has vast outdoor space and an indoor area too.

Newly opened in 2020, the 9 Pyramids Lounge is the only restaurant to actually be on the Giza plateau with unobstructed views of all three pyramids. Needless to say, the view is out of this world!  The best thing about the 9 Pyramids Lounge is, there is no building. Instead, it's built in a subtle wooden setting with indoor and outdoor spaces for dining with a relaxing outdoor majlis seating with pillows scattered on the ground to emulate the Bedouin style.  They serve Mediterranean grill & Egyptian food as well as international cuisine with hefty portion sizes. Overall the food is average but the view is hard to beat and worth a visit.
